The Rules

Displays must be switched on and visible from 7pm – 9:30pm each night during the judging period of 6th December to 19th December.

You may enter a display in one of the following categories:

Residential property

Business premise

Canal frontage

Apartment block or street 

A street nomination must consist of four or more residential premises. One nomination is accepted per street. 

Displays may be a combination of Christmas lights and decorations only.

Entries must not contain any material that is defamatory, discriminating, obscene, indecent, harassing, or threatening or is otherwise unlawful. See competition T&C's for details on disqualification.

Judging will only apply to exterior light displays, with assessment being from the front of the property. 

Entrants must ensure their display is compliant with all laws & regulations, including but not limited to: COVID-19, electrical regulations, tenancy agreements, body corporate rules. The Competition Organisers accept no responsibility for any displays which are deemed unlawful or non-compliant with any regulations.

Inspections by qualified electricians to check entrant's display's safety is recommended, and will be at the responsibility and expense of each entrant. Entrants must ensure appropriate insurances are in place for the premises at which their displays are shown.

Entrants must consider the impact their display may have on the safety of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Correct permits must be obtained for use of footpaths. Ensure your display is secured safely, in case of inclement weather or theft.
