Cockatoo Crest located at the ends of both Tamarillo Circuit and Citrus Court, is surely one of the best Narangba parks to visit for some down-time.
Tucked away at the end of two cul-de-sacs, this quaint, but sizeable green refuge is definitely the place to go if you intend to soak up the silence and serenity of nature.
Sitting atop a small hill and partly bordered by fences, along with red and yellow bottle-brush bushes, this park offers plenty of tranquil privacy.
Pretty melodies of the native birds and gentle breezes brushing against the treetops create a harmonious backdrop, giving it almost a magical atmosphere.
While adults will adore the peacefulness, kids will love the well-maintained playground facilities – a large, hexagonal five-seat swing set, a climbing platform plus slide, spinning poles and bouncing toddler seats offer plenty of fun to keep children entertained for at least an hour or two.
Just a hop, skip and jump away is a clean and well-maintained electric BBQ, sheltered seating area catering to those wishing to grill-up a tasty meal.
This outdoor Narangba parks dining area is bordered by sandstone blocks.
The jewel in the crown of this natural public recreational area is the flat, manicured lawn at the far end of the park. Like green carpet that seems to have been rolled out to welcome park-goers, this space is large enough for ball sports and will easily accommodate kids keen to run around.
Some trees are dotted throughout this flat green, creating a partial canopy of shade under which young ones can play unabated, safe from the sun’s rays.
On sunny days, with the trickle of sunlight dancing upon the sprawling lawn, what could be more enchanting than sprawling yourself out on a picnic blanket and indulging in a delicious spread with your family and friends while you watch the young ones having fun expending their energy.
Described as similar to a lush private courtyard by some nearby residents, Cockatoo Crest is a lovely place to park yourself on a warm day when trying to escape the humidity and hustle and bustle of everyday life.
