Red Beach | Bribie Island

About Red Beach | Bribie Island

Red Beach is a doggie paradise, built to let your pooch run and swim off-leash. Red Beach is the number one dog beach in Bribie Island, nestled somewhere between the surf side of Woorim Beach and the calm waters of Bongaree.

Off-leash play for your furry friends

You can reach Red Beach from the car park off Tully Street, Bongaree by following a vegetation-shrouded path to the surf-side stretch of sandy shores. You'll instantly notice the dunes lined with vines covering a few kilometres, Red Beach eventually meets up Woody Bay, which is just around the corner from the off-leash dog section of Woorim Beach, making for a perfect scenic walk for dog owners (best done at low tide).

There aren't too many South East Queensland beaches that encourage dogs to frolic in the waves which is one of Red Beach's most popular feature. While considered part of Bribie Island's 'surf-side,' Red Beach doesn't encounter rough waves similar to those at Woorim, making it a perfect spot to take a dip at high tide with your pooch.

There are no facilities at Red Beach so please keep your waste in mind and always clean up after your little pet. Please be considerate and respectful of the environment and leash the dog if there is wildlife.

Please note that the foreshore area between Red Beach access off Tully Street Bongaree and the carpark at the southern end of South Esplanade Bongaree is a dog prohibited area. View the Moreton Bay Regional Council map to ensure you let your dogs off-leash in the appropraite areas here.

Getting to Red Beach

There are a number of ways to access Red Beach; Beach Access Road is a popular dirt road that will lead you directly to Red Beach and Kendall Access road will take you to a section of the beach by far the most popular for swimming at high tide. Alternatively, many people will often walk from Bongaree past Buckley's Hole.
