6:00pm 20th May - 1:30pm 22nd May
Boat enthusiasts from across the country will soon set sail and make their way to Moreton Bay for the upcoming Bribie Island Classic Boat Regatta from May 20-22.
Now in its 23rd year, the three-day event is not only a get together for boat owners, but also an opportunity for the public to have a close look at the classic wooden boats that will be on display.
The event, hosted by the Bribie Aquatic Community Events Inc (BACE), will also feature plenty of family-friendly fun including a grand parade, boat races, live music, entertainment and more.
On Saturday, May 21, the public will have the opportunity to see the boats depart from the Spinnaker Sound Marina at Sandstone Point where they will depart for a leisurely voyage out into the Pumicestone Passage up to Toorbul and Donnybrook.
The highlight of the weekend will be the grand parade on Sunday morning, led by Volunteer Marine Rescue Bribie.
There will also be a series of short boat races, a motorboat trial, rowing and paddling races and Dragon boat racing.
On land there will be nautical pop-up stalls, food stalls, a coffee van, sausage sizzle, live music, markets, face painting and more.
Registrations open on March 18th, for more information, visit www.BACE.org.au
