
Don’t miss Splash and Play event

Make a splash at the only water play event on Moreton Bay Regional Council’s community events calendar on February 18.
Splash and Play is on from 10am-2pm at The Mill Water Park, Petrie, and will be the perfect setting for some family fun.
Little ones will have hours of fun on the splash pad, under the water bucket and at the adventure playground.
The family friendly event will feature plenty of activities in and out of water.
DJ Bex Discos will providing a fun and interactive experience for all ages with music, games and a bubble machine.
There will be a selection of food trucks and markets stalls to choose from for families keen to stay for lunch. Bring a picnic blanket or camping chairs.
Splash and Play is presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council and delivered by Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism.
Mayor Peter Flannery says the event will be fun for all ages.
“There’ll be free music, free games, a bubble machine and even food trucks for parents who want a day off from making lunches,” he says.
“Honestly this is the best place in South East Queensland to keep cool in the heat of summer. Our water park has won multiple state and national awards, in fact it’s become an attraction for visitors from outside our region.
“If you’ve not been yet, this is the perfect excuse to discover an amazing public amenity.”
Councillor Mick Gillam (Div 8) says the $11.5 million recreation space at The Mill features two new playgrounds for older and younger children, a flying fox, a large cricket pitch, a shaded splash pad with water bucket, a huge green space and a sheltered barbecue area.
“The RSL will be there with a sausage sizzle so once you've had your fill of water play grab a picnic blanket or the camping chairs and stay for lunch,” he says.
