We’ve put a list together of the best seaside spots and outlets in the Moreton Bay Region, so you can take your pick.

Sandstone Point

Take in views of Pumicestone Passage and go for a walk along the foreshore from Turner’s Camp Rest Area. There are toilets and grassed areas ideal to lay out your picnic rug. Access is via Turner’s Camp Rd.

Bongaree Beach

Here you can enjoy cool breezes, gentle waters and a great view of the bay from the waterfront shelters. It’s the perfect spot to watch the world go by.

Woorim Beach

This is the region’s only surf beach and the perfect spot for a surf, swim or to fish. If you don’t catch your own, there are plenty of places you can buy lunch or dinner.

Margate Beach

This is one of the longest-stretching beaches on the Redcliffe Peninsula and has picnic shelters dotted along the 2km timber boardwalk.

Suttons Beach

With great views of Moreton Bay out to Moreton Island, this park is filled with large lawned areas and shady trees. There are picnic facilities, including shelters. Access is via Marine Pde, Redcliffe

Scarborough Beach Park

This popular destination has big grassed areas perfect for a picnic with views of Moreton Island and easy access to the beach. The playground and jumping pillow remain closed due to COVID-19 restrictions. Access is via Landsborough Ave, Scarborough

Crockatt Park

This is a green oasis in busy Woody Point, with large grassed areas perfect for a picnic and handy to cafes and restaurants. Access is via Hornibrook Esp, Woody Point

Pelican Park

There’s plenty of room to move and relax while devouring fish and chips at this location with a view. Access is via Hornibrook Esp, Clontarf

Apex Park

Enjoy views of the Deception Bay foreshore, walk out when the tide is low, and enjoy fish and chips while relaxing on the large grassed section of this park, at Captain Cook Parade

Beachmere foreshore

Lay out your picnic rug on one of the grassed areas, or grab a picnic shelter and enjoy the peaceful water views. Access is via Main St.
