$4m confirmed for new clubhouse
Plans for a new Pine Rivers Netball Association (PRNA) clubhouse in Pine Rivers have received a $4.1 million boost.
The State Government has confirmed its election commitment for the project at Les Hughes Sports Complex, off Francis Rd in Bray Park.
It will include two change rooms with showers, timekeeper, office, canteen, clubroom, barbeque area, covered deck and tiered seating.
There will be 74 new parking spaces, four for people with disability and an ambulance bay. A storage shed will be relocated to the new car park.
Detailed design and procurement is underway with construction likely to start next year.
The new clubhouse will replace the current building which has been home to Pine Rivers Netball Association for more than 40 years.
“Following City of Moreton Bay’s advocacy during the (2024) State Election campaign, the State Government committed to this project and recently allocated $4.1 million in their budget,” a Council spokesperson said.
“We look forward to formalising this funding commitment from the State Government now that it has been announced,” a Council spokesperson said.
“The project will replace the outdated facility with one that meets regional association netball standards.
“Pine Rivers Netball Association is the largest netball association in City of Moreton Bay, and the upgraded facility will better meet their needs.”
The Federal Government has already committed $1.5 million to the project through its Investing in Our Communities program.
