Ausbuild partners with Zonta to raise domestic violence awareness at Dolphins match
The Dolphins’ first game of the 2026 season at Kayo Stadium in Redcliffe helped shine a light on domestic and family violence awareness last week, with support from Ausbuild.
Held at the club’s spiritual home, the match included the Zonta Club of Redcliffe as part of the match-day experience. Seventy Zonta members and supporters attended the sold-out clash, using the opportunity to raise awareness ahead of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in May.
Zonta Club of Redcliffe President Marie Stewart said the event was a meaningful way to increase visibility for the organisation and its work in the community.
“Even though it wasn’t a great game for the Dolphins, it was a great game for awareness and visibility for Zonta and what we stand for,” she said.
Marie, who has been involved with Zonta for 19 years, said working with major sporting codes like rugby league helps reach a broader audience, particularly young people.
“Little kids look up to sporting heroes, and they have to be good examples,” she said.
“If we can work with sports like rugby league, those role models can help reinforce positive behaviour, especially for kids who may not see that at home.”
The partnership came through Ausbuild, the official Community Partner of the Dolphins, which provided 70 tickets to the match for Zonta members and supporters.
The group also took part in the guard of honour and were featured on the big screen before the game, helping share their message with the crowd.
Ausbuild Joint Managing Director Matthew Bell said the initiative was about supporting local organisations doing important work.
“As Community Partner of the Dolphins, we are privileged to connect with the local community and raise awareness for organisations such as Zonta Club of Redcliffe,” he said.
“They play a vital role in supporting awareness for important issues like domestic and family violence.”
The match comes ahead of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month in May, with Zonta set to continue its advocacy locally, including supporting the Moreton Bay Says No to Domestic Violence walk in Redcliffe on Friday, May 26.
Zonta is the third organisation supported by Ausbuild during the 2026 Dolphins season, alongside Undurba State School and Northern Districts Hack and Dressage Club Inc.
