Bribie couple set for life with $4.8m win
A Bribie Island couple’s morning commute became a roadside celebration after they won $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.
Remarkably, it follows their previous division two Set for Life win, which earned them $5000 a month for a year!
And follows a similar $4.8 million Set for Life win for a Morayfield man just two weeks ago!
The Bribie duo held the only division one winning entry nationally in Tuesday’s Set for Life draw to take home $4.8 million in monthly instalments of $20,000 over 20 years.
When an official from The Lott broke the news, the winning husband said: “Oh my god! Are you serious? Are you serious?
“I’ve got to get out of the car for a second. I can’t even talk. I’m all over the joint. I cannot believe it. My wife's just about to collapse.
“This is life-changing. We’ll be able to retire.
“We’re such hardworking people. We’re always helping others and often put ourselves last, so it feels like everything we’ve done for others has finally come back to us.
“You know what, a few years ago, we actually won division two in Set for Life and now look at this. I’m so taken aback right now.
“I checked my ticket this morning, but I thought I had won only $8. I must have been looking at the wrong thing!”
The winning wife said the surreal news had left them trembling. “I’m shaking,” she said.
“It’s been tough lately. It’s true, we’re hardworking people and we’ve had to be strong. This is life-changing.
