Butcher snags prime location to meat community's appetite

Super Butcher has officially opened in Morayfield, celebrating the milestone with a grand opening community event on Saturday.

More than 1000 people walked through the doors over the weekend, with Super Butcher General Manager Joel Giacomantonio pleased to see such a huge turnout.

“We had people coming into the store and stocking up on everything,” Joel said.

“At previous store openings, we have seen people go in for the specials or pick up little things, but in Morayfield, we just had a completely different reaction from the customers.

“The store got cleaned out, which is a massive result for us, especially since we didn’t have an existing customer base in this part of Moreton Bay.

“We received lots of positive feedback from customers saying they had been waiting weeks and months for our store to open, and that they were glad to have a good butcher in the area.”

The store features a cold room where customers can walk in and stock up on products and even have it cut for them by the on-site butchers.

In addition to selling a wide range of meats and cuts, the store also sells barbecues, coals, wood, barbecue rubs, seasonings, sauces, brines and more.

Customers can also pick up items like homemade pies, sausage rolls, roast pork and roast beef rolls, sandwiches and more from the hot box lunch bar.

The Morayfield store, located in the Morayfield Super Centre, is the company’s eighth store in Queensland and second in the Moreton Bay Region.

Other stores are located at Albany Creek, Ashmore, Birkdale, Browns Plains, Eagle Farm, Oxenford and Southport.

A growing team

“Normally after a grand opening, things can start to slow down a little bit in the days after, but at the Morayfield store, they are still seeing lots of people walking through the door,” Joel explained.

“Because of this, I am looking to hire another 2-3 people.

“I’m looking for a qualified butcher as well as customer service representatives.

“This will bring the number of staff we have at this store to 14.

“People have been really understanding during this time knowing that we need to put on a few extra people to keep up with demand.”
