Cars, gold and rescue mission

A Moreton Bay woman will pursue her life-long dream of rescuing animals after winning a $250,000 Play For Purpose First Prize Pack.

The King Scrub resident’s prize includes an Audi Q3 Wagon valued at $77,535, an Audi Q4 Sportback e-Tron valued at $112,465 and $60,000 of gold bullion.

The passionate animal lover bought a ticket in support of The Rescue Collective, which holds a special place in her heart, having volunteered with them.

“What! What! Oh my god. You’re joking! You’re kidding me right now,” she said, when told of her win.

“I’m a huge animal lover. I’m a huge softie and any animal cause always pulls at my heartstrings.

“The Rescue Collective are special to me because they’re local, and I’ve actually done volunteer work with them before.

“They do a lot of habitat rescue and work with koalas and that sort of thing. I donate to a lot of charities and get tickets for different causes.

“We’ve always had plans of getting rescue animals, but that’s all just been pie in the sky. Now we can make it a reality!

“I’m in need of a new car too, so this is amazing timing. Honestly, it’s completely life-changing.”

The Rescue Collective Executive Committee member Danielle Bowden said the team was thrilled to see a supporter win the $250,000 First Prize Pack.

“Every ticket bought helps raise crucial funds that support domestic and local wildlife carers with specialised formula, medical supplies and life-saving equipment like ICUs,” she said.

“This isn’t just a win for one person - it’s a win for wildlife everywhere.”

Alongside The Rescue Collective, over 400 different charities were supported this raffle.

Top supported charities were Childhood Cancer Association, Love Your Sister and Rural Aid.
