Celebrating small businesses

Moreton Bay Regional Council is shining a light on the contribution of businesses as part of Queensland Small Business Month.

Mayor Peter Flannery says Council is committed to supporting the growth, resilience and innovation of the region’s 29,000 small businesses that support 140,000 jobs and provide essential services.

“Throughout May we are celebrating thousands of small businesses that have kept our economy moving across the region,” he says

“Over the past 12 months, we have introduced a series of programs and business events to support our small business community, including an advanced manufacturing series and a business data club series,” he says.

“We have also collaborated with a range of organisations on networking events that assisted small businesses across the region to tackle cyber-security, promote circular economy and other initiatives.”

As part of the celebrations Council is hosting a high tea for finalists in the 2021 Moreton Bay Region Business Excellence and Innovation Awards.
