Council burn-offs this week
Moreton Bay Regional Council has controlled burn-offs scheduled this week, but is closely monitoring weather conditions. Here’s what it has planned.
Mayor Peter Flannery says Council is conducting planned burns at Bongaree today.
“We have crews at Buckleys Hole Conservation Park this afternoon undertaking planned burns, which are expected to be completed by tonight,” Mayor Flannery says.
“We plan to conduct burns at Ningi at mid-morning tomorrow but have postponed a more complex burn that was scheduled at Lottie Place Reserve in Cashmere due to low humidity levels in that area.
“We will assess the weather throughout the week and make a decision for the remaining scheduled burns daily.”
