Dayboro Road upgrade to begin

Resurfacing work will start on Brisbane - Woodford Rd, locally known as Dayboro Rd, between Kurwongbah and Whiteside.

Asphalt resurfacing of the 3.5km section of the road will cost the State Government $5 million and will “extend pavement life, improve surface quality and reduce ongoing maintenance costs”.

The work is scheduled to start mid-August 2025 and is expected to take about six weeks to complete, weather and construction conditions permitting.

Delays and increased travel times may occur during construction.

Work will be carried out Sunday to Thursday, between 6pm and 6am, with occasional day and weekend work as needed.

Traffic controllers will be on site to assist motorists through the work zone.

Reduced speed limits, road signage and variable message signs will be in place to advise of changed traffic conditions.

Transport and Main Roads Acting Deputy Regional Director Nick Broadley says Brisbane-Woodford Rd is a key connector linking Brisbane to townships such as Dayboro, Mount Mee and Woodford.

“This route is popular with tourists, day trippers, and motorbike riders,” he says.

“TMR invests in regional connectors like Brisbane-Woodford Road to ensure smoother, safer driving conditions for the 4800 vehicles that use this route daily.

“This work follows recent pavement stabilisation and resealing along 37km of Brisbane–Woodford Road between Mount Mee and Whiteside.”
