Donate toys, gifts to kids in care

The Morayfield and surrounds community is being asked to dig deep this Christmas season and donate presents and gifts for kids in care.

The Morayfield Shopping Centre is again running its annual Christmas Toy Drive, with all donations to be given to more than 400 children aged from newborn to 18 years in foster and hospital care.

Morayfield Shopping Centre Marketing Assistant Becky Curtis says donating to the appeal is an easy way to help bring a smile to a child's face this Christmas, as most of the children wouldn’t normally receive a present.

“We are inviting our shoppers to bring some joy to our local kids in care, because when you choose joy, you feel good, you do good, and you inspire others to do the same,” Becky says.

“All of the toys will be donated to the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women, who distribute to items to kids in care in Morayfield and surrounds.

“Morayfield Shopping Centre has been a part of this community engagement initiative for more than a decade, and we are honoured to take part again.”

The shopping centre has set up a chute between QBD The Bookshop and Godfrey’s where donations can be dropped off anytime between now and Saturday, December 10.

The centre asks that only new toys and presents be donated.
