City of Moreton Bay residents can also vote early at Brisbane City Hall, in Adelaide St, on the same days and times.

An Electoral Commission Queensland (ECQ) spokesperson reminded residents five divisions and the position of Mayor are uncontested.

"For electors in divisions 1, 4, 7, 9 and 11, there is no requirement to vote at these elections," the spokesperson said.

"Electors in the remaining divisions of Moreton Bay City Council are still required to vote for their councillor.

"As a result, the ECQ has made the decision to close 25 election day booths in these divisional areas and one early voting centre at Bongaree."

Locations of current booth and early voting centres, as well as cancelled booth locations, are on the ECQ website. Click here https://www.ecq.qld.gov.au/booths.

Electoral Commissioner Pat Vidgen said to vote quickly bring the Voter Information Card which residents have received or will receive this week in the mail.

“That’s the big maroon card unique to you – simply bring it in, show it to our staff when you arrive and you’ll be marked off the electoral roll quickly,” he said.

“If your email address is on the electoral roll, you will also receive an electronic version of this which you can use in the same way.”

“If you forget to bring your card along, that’s okay – you can still vote without it.”

The ECQ encourages residents to check details on the ECQ website before heading out to vote.

“Remember, you must vote in your local government area in these elections,” Mr Vidgen said.
