Fresh cuts on Clontarf foreshore

Local men on the Redcliffe Peninsula have a new grooming destination, with The MR. Collective open along the Clontarf foreshore.

The appointment-only barbershop opened earlier this year and offers precision haircuts for men, with a more personalised service and calmer experience compared to traditional walk-in barber shops.

The MR. Collective is the latest venture from the team previously known as MrMrs The Hair Experts, a locally-owned family business led by founders Cara and Bash.

Cara said the decision to launch a dedicated men’s space came as the business evolved and the team looked to refine their offering.

“We wanted to be really intentional,” she said. “The MR. Collective allows us to focus purely on delivering a premium barber experience without trying to be everything in one space.”

Led by experience and precision

The new barbershop is led by experienced barber Bash, who offers a mix of modern styles and classic techniques. Clients can expect tailored grooming in an environment that feels relaxed yet refined.

Cara said the business remains focused on building genuine relationships with clients rather than rushing through high volumes of appointments.

“It’s not transactional. We know our clients, we know their preferences, and we value quality over volume.”

Unlike many traditional barbershops, The MR. Collective operates strictly by appointment. That means no walk-ins, no crowded waiting areas and no rushed services.

“It’s designed around intention and respect for time,” Cara said. “Every appointment is properly allocated so clients receive consistency and attention to detail.”

A local expansion for a growing business

Opening on the bayside was a deliberate choice, with Cara determined to continue supporting the community that has backed the business from the beginning.

“Clontarf and the wider Moreton Bay region have supported us from day one,” Cara said.

“Expanding locally wasn’t even a question.”

The team also expanded to give local men access high-end grooming experience without needing to travel too far into Brisbane for quality service.

Despite only opening earlier this year, The MR. Collective has already seen strong demand, with the new business now looking to hire an experienced barber to join the team as it continues to grow.

Alongside the launch of The MR. Collective, the team has also expanded The MRS. Collective, a dedicated salon space designed specifically for women.

Cara said the female-led business places a strong focus on education, long-term hair health and creating opportunities for women.

“The MRS. Collective is deeply personal,” she said.

“It’s a space that celebrates women — not just their hair, but their journeys. From first colours to big life changes, it’s about helping women feel confident and supported.”

The salon offers a more holistic approach to hair care, offering women low-maintenance beauty and confidence-building to support women to feel like the best version of themselves in a way that fits their real lives.

Bookings for both The MR. Collective and The MRS. Collective are now open, with appointments available throughout the week.
