Garbage collection back to normal
Kerbside bin collections are now back to normal after Council’s waste contractor Cleanaway resolved negotiations with the Transport Workers Union.
If your wheelie bin is not emptied on your normal day of service, you can report it to Moreton Bay Regional Council by phoning 3205 0555.
Council will advise Cleanaway where bins have been missed and organise for them to be collected within two working days.
Reinforcements called in
Cleanaway called in additional trucks and crew members from as far away as Cairns to clear missed bins during driver strike action, which began on November 16.
Extra services including weekend pick-ups were also introduced.
Waste and recycling collection services are now back to normal as of this week (beginning December 14).
A council spokesman thanked residents for their patience and understanding during the strike.
