Green light after $4m upgrades

Work is complete on $4.4m upgrades to the Pumicestone and Dances roads intersection at Caboolture.

The upgrades, funded by the State Government’s Targeted Road Safety Program, are to improve safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.

They include a new, signalised, pedestrian crossing on Dances Rd and concrete footpath on the western side of Pumicestone Rd.

Two new, signal-controlled, double, right-run lanes make turning safer from Pumicestone Rd onto the eastbound D'Aguilar Highway on-ramp.

State Member for Pumicestone Ali King at the Dances Rd intersection before the upgrades began.

"It's fantastic to see this project finally wrapping up, this is a big safety improvement for everyone in the Moreton Bay Region," Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said.

Ali King, State Member for Pumicestone, said the intersection was a “key link” for motorists using the D'Aguilar Highway and going east to the Bruce Highway.

State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan said: "We resurfaced the intersection, along Pumicestone Rd to the north and south of the intersection and the on and off ramps to the D'Aguilar Highway to reduce future maintenance costs.”
