Green light for driving range

Plans have been approved for a new “golf and entertainment destination” in Moreton Bay.

Swing Factory has been given the green light by Moreton Bay City Council to upgrade the Deception Bay Driving Range.

The company will now move towards final design work, appoint contractors and prepare the large site for further development.

Construction is to start later this year and when complete will have a 26-bay driving range with Toptracer technology and an 18-hole mini-golf course.

There will also be food and drinks, function and events spaces and family entertainment at the Olive St venue, which Swing factory acquired last year.

"Receiving Development Approval is a huge milestone for Swing Factory and an exciting moment for our team," Swing Factory CEO Erich Weber said.

"Moreton Bay is a rapidly growing region and we believe this facility will provide something truly unique for the community.

“Our goal has always been to create venues that combine the best in golf practice, entertainment and hospitality, while remaining welcoming and accessible to everyone.

"We are looking forward to moving into the construction phase later in 2026 (with opening sometime in mid-late 2027).”

This will be Swing Factory’s fourth venue, following launches at Terrey Hills (NSW), Morack Public Golf (VIC) and Maitland (NSW).
