It's family first for Lotto winner
A Kallangur grandfather says he wants for nothing but a box of beer and plans to gift most of his $250,000 Instant Scratch-Its win to his family.
The Moreton Bay resident’s winning $10 Lucky Gems Instant Scratch-Its ticket was bought at News Extra in Lillybrook Shopping Centre.
“It’s not bad!” he said when contacted by The Lott. “I’ve already planned to give most of it to my children.
"They’ve got families and houses and that. I told them yesterday, and they were pretty excited.
“I’ve been pretty calm myself. I actually scratched the ticket a week ago but had been sitting on it.
“When I took it to the newsagency, he said ‘You’ve got a winner!’. Even then, I was quite relaxed.
“I’ve been playing Instant Scratch-Its tickets since they first started. It’s been a long time!”
When asked if there was anything he’d buy for himself, the winner said: “Honestly, just a box of beers to celebrate will do me.
“It’s family that’s most important to me.”
