Key changes for highway upgrade

Motorists and pedestrians are being warned of changes to Dohles Rock Rd as part of the Bruce Highway upgrade.

From Monday November 3, there will be temporary changes between Goodrich Road West and the intersection for the southbound entry to the Bruce Highway.

These are part of the new intersection and upgrades, ahead of the new northbound entry and southbound exit ramps. 

Changes are expected to be in place until May 2026 and include:

• Closing the eastbound straight-through traffic lane on Dohles Rocks Road
• Altering one of the right-hand turn only lanes that joins the Bruce Highway into a shared straight and right-turn traffic lane
• Changes to traffic light timings on the southbound entry ramp intersection and northbound exit ramp intersection on Dohles Rocks Road
• Installing a pedestrian crossing over the slip lane from the Bruce Highway that turns westbound onto Dohles Rocks Road.

edestrians will need to follow a detour while the footpath is closed. This route uses an existing signalised crossing.

A temporary footpath and pedestrian crossings will be set-up across the northbound exit ramp from the Highway and Dohles Rocks Rd. Motorists will see:

• Changed traffic conditions and minor delays, including reduced speed limit, traffic control and signage
• The temporary change for eastbound traffic on Dohles Rocks Road to use a shared straight and right-turn lane
• To prepare to stop and give way to pedestrians on the pedestrian crossing over the left-turn slip lane from the Bruce Highway.

Work underway includes service relocations, modifying existing and new storm water drainage, traffic signal and road lighting network modifications and installing guardrails, concrete barriers, signs and fencing.

Day works are expected between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 7am to 1pm on Saturday. Night works from 9pm to 6am, Sunday to Thursday when required.
