Kiwi Cuzzy Guide to Moreton Bay

Moreton Bay residents are being urged to step up and use the new ‘Kiwi Cuzzy Guide’ to show visitors from across the Tasman the best of our region.

Figures show more than 350,000 Kiwis living in Queensland, with 25,000 of those living in Moreton Bay. There has also been a 20 per cent rise in Kiwis flying into Brisbane from across the ditch.

The guide aims to capture a significant slice of those visitor numbers by highlighting some of Moreton Bay’s best-loved experiences.

These range from fish and chips along Redcliffe Jetty and laid-back mornings at Scarborough Marina, to beach days on Bribie and whale watching in the winter season.

It also encourages going to Moreton Bay’s hinterland with scenic drives through Mount Mee, long lunches at Ocean View Estates and stops in Dayboro Village.

For families, farms like White Ridge and Trevena Glen offer hands-on, feel-good moments, while it’s easy to relax and eat at such as Sandstone Point Hotel and Sunny’s Margate Beach.

The guide also points to some of the region’s standout events - from lacing up for the Jetty2Jetty Marathon, to the jousting, markets and entertainment at Abbey Medieval Festival.

“When friends and family come to stay, it’s often the simple, local experiences that leave the biggest impression,” Tourism and Events Moreton Bay CEO Luke Edwards said.

“This guide is about making it easy for locals to show off their backyard and have a bit of fun doing it, whether that’s a beach day, a hinterland drive, a major event or a great place to eat, all while supporting the local businesses that make Moreton Bay special.”

Designed with a light-hearted Kiwi tone, the guide reinforces Moreton Bay’s appeal as an easy, experience-rich destination just up the road from Brisbane.

The Kiwi Cuzzy Guide is available at Visitor Information Centres across Moreton Bay and online via the Visit Moreton Bay website.
