"Largest outdoor store in southern hemisphere"

Work has officially started on the new $92 million Anaconda Adventure HQ development at Brendale.

Spotlight Group executive deputy chairman Zac Fried and Moreton Bay City Council Mayor, Peter Flannery, turned the first sod.

Mr Fried said the Anaconda Adventure HQ – on the corner of South Pine Rd and Old North Rd - will be the “largest outdoor store in the Southern Hemisphere".

The development, which will create almost 300 jobs, is expected to open in the second half of 2026.

It will be anchored by a flagship Anaconda store and have other national retailers such as Spotlight, which owns the site and Harris Scarfe Home, as well as a gym and a café.

Stage 1 will provide 17,000 square metres of retail showroom space and have 450 car parking spaces. Stage 2 will see another 15,000sqm.

“Anaconda Adventure HQ will be the largest we have ever built with a one-stop outdoor adventure store putting Brendale on the national retail map,” Mr Fried said.

“It will be an engaging outdoor retail experience with a 40-foot lure casting tank, fishing simulator, cold room to try your favourite down or ski jacket and a range of boats”.

During construction, the project will support 405 full time equivalent jobs and 295 full time positions when complete.

Mr Fried said the Anaconda Adventure HQ site was in a prime employment precinct and will service a range of retail and trade supply areas.

“The areas to the south-west and north are some of the fastest growing in the state,” he said.

“Anaconda Adventure HQ and the associated retail outlets will serve as a catchment area that extends to Petrie, Carseldine, Albany Creek and the Brisbane hinterland.

“Spotlight Group is delighted to be working with Moreton Bay Council in bringing this site to life.”
