Monday Madness for Caboolture's Gold Lotto winners

Ten Caboolture residents have a new favourite day of the week after their syndicate dubbed ‘Monday Madness’, delivered $1 million in last night’s Gold Lotto draw.

The winning store syndicate held one of the three division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto. Each entry won $1 million.

The syndicate scored division three six times, boosting their total windfall to $1,002,248.20. Each member receives a share worth $100,224.82.

Shares into the winning syndicate were sold at The Local Lotto & Gifts, Shop 6, Market Plaza, 49-55 Morayfield Rd, Caboolture.

“This is a weekly syndicate. It’s been running the 11 years I’ve been here, maybe even longer,” owner Vilma Smith said.

“The syndicate is named ‘Monday Madness’, and most of the syndicate members are local. This is the biggest prize this syndicate has won, so all the customers are thrilled.

“We’ve already begun delivering the exciting news to a few syndicate players this morning. They’ve all had huge smiles on their faces and said they had restless nights after discovering their exciting news.

'So excited'

“There’s a beautiful atmosphere in the outlet today. Everyone is so excited!”

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy urged anyone who bought a syndicate share into last night’s Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw from The Local Lotto & Gifts to check their entries.

“We know some of these division one winning syndicate members have already begun celebrating their good fortune and are looking forward to a hefty boost to their bank accounts,” she said.

“However, other syndicate members may be completely oblivious to their win.

Check tickets

“We’ll be reaching out to those players who registered their entry to a player card, but those who are unregistered members will need to check their ticket and contact us to start the prize claim process.”

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4170 on April 4 were 1, 14, 32, 20, 9 and 12, while the supplementary numbers were 34 and 21.

Across Australia, there were three division one winning entries – two from Queensland and one from Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 355 so far this financial year, including 78 won by Golden Casket customers.
