Entries open for Moreton Bay’s young artists

Young artists from across City of Moreton Bay can showcase their creativity, with entries now open for the 2026 Moreton Bay Youth Art Awards.

The annual awards are for school-aged artists to exhibit their work in a supportive, professional gallery environment and sharing their creativity with the wider community.

Open to students living in or attending school within Moreton Bay, the awards celebrate a diverse range, from two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.

Mediums can include painting, drawing, photography, digital art, sculpture, ceramics and installation.

Entries are grouped by school year level, with prize money and trophies awarded to winners in each category. Prize categories include a People’s Choice Award.

City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said the Awards continue to highlight the depth of creative talent across the City.

“The Youth Art Awards are an important platform for young people to express themselves and be recognised for their creativity,” Mayor Flannery said.

“The program offers students the opportunity to build confidence, gain recognition and share their work with the wider community through a public exhibition.

“Each year, we see an incredible range of work that reflects the perspectives, ideas and imagination of our young artists.”

The competition includes individual and collaborative categories, with prize money, trophies and school scholarships awarded across each category and year level.

Entries are free and open until October 1, 2026.

The exhibition will be at Albany Creek Community Centre from October 17-25, 2026, where the community can view the artworks and vote in the People’s Choice Award.
