New bar plans at waterfront cafe
Sidonie Newport, the waterfront cafe and bar, is closing just for next week as part of its expansion plans.
A new bar is being installed at the popular venue which will re-open on Monday April 27 with a new wine list and new cocktails.
The bar will replace Sidonie’s current coffee counter, which is being moved to the opposite end of the cafe.
While the renovations are under way, from April 20-26, a coffee cart will be outside the cafe to serve customers.
“Our plan is always to move toward something we are passionate about,” Sidonie General Manager Ethan Newcombe said.
“For us that is coming for coffee, coming for lunch/breakfast/dinner and then being able to enjoy cocktails and good wine as well.
“It’s all about elevating the experience while keeping the relaxed atmosphere we’re known for.”
Sidonie has recently expanded its brunch menu and extended trading to seven days a week.
It also serves pastries and high teas, which are popular for birthdays, bridal showers and special occasions.
