New Precinct to emerge at Norths

The final stage in the multimillion-dollar redevelopment of Norths Leagues and Services Club is on track to be finished by August, offering diners flavours of the world, a standalone bar, and new children’s area.

General Manager Troy Young says a new restaurant has been planned for about three years, but the

COVID-19 pandemic created a more localised market and management knew the time was right.

It will be called The Precinct.

“We have totally demolished our old restaurant and designed a state-of-the-art kitchen, food outlets, kids’ facility and beverage offering from ground up,” Mr Young says.

“It has given us the opportunity to double our floor space in our dining area for our members and guests.

“Personally, this project has been one of the most exciting that I have had the pleasure to work on. But it is not just me – the excitement felt by the entire Norths team is truly infectious.”

Why quality food is important

Mr Young says food is the fabric that brings Australians together.

“Celebrating a special occasion, cheering on your favourite sports team, or even just catching up with friends − food is present,” he says.

The Precinct will feature four distinct dining outlets – German, Italian, Asian and Steakhouse.

Executive Chef Brock Currey has worked across South East Asia, at a mix of five-star resorts and smaller local restaurants, gaining experience in the traditional and authentic cuisines of the region. He says the four styles of cuisine were selected after analysing what was popular on the club’s menu.

“The choice is everything. Diners can expect quality handmade food, cooked and prepared with authenticity and service with a smile,” he says.

“For me, when you think of authentic cooking, Italian Nonnas spring to mind. My background training (and the training I hope to pass on to my chefs) is the original way of doing things - making as much as possible from scratch. Like the Italian Nonnas. Keeping the menus as authentic as possible is of the highest important to me.”

The final stage of the renovations includes a standalone bar area including a gelato bar and kids’ room named ‘The Jungle’.
