Nightwork warning for motorists
Motorists have been of warned of “intermittent traffic holds” during Wednesday’s nightwork on the Bruce Highway at Murrumba Downs/Griffin.
Energex works are scheduled on the highway and in Goodridge Road West and Goodrich Rd East (near Dohles Rocks Rd overpass) on October 8 from 9pm-4am.
The highway will remain open to vehicles, but intermittent traffic holds (approximately 10 minutes) will occur for northbound and southbound traffic from 1am-3am.
This is to enable crews to safely remove overhead power lines. Access for emergency services will be maintained during this time.
- Motorists are urged to plan their trips and allow extra travel time due to potential delays.
- Expect reduced speeds, follow signage, and allow additional travel time. Temporary traffic delays are expected.
- Flashing lights and noise can be expected during the night works.
- Power supply to nearby properties is not expected to be affected.
Works include:
- removing existing power poles in Goodridge Rd East and Goodridge Rd West.
- holding highway traffic to safely disconnect and remove the existing overhead power lines above the highway.
This follows Energex’s recent installation of new underground electrical cables in the area.
The work is preparing for construction of southbound exit and northbound entry ramps in the Bruce Highway–Dohles Rocks Rd to Anzac Ave upgrade stage one.
Works are subject to suitable weather and construction conditions.
