Police injured at traffic stop

A 33-year-old man has been charged after allegedly driving at police during a traffic stop at Morayfield on July 8.

It will be alleged, about 1.20am, police conducted a traffic stop on a grey Mercedes Benz C200 stopped at Forest Hill Drive near the intersection with Wingara Drive.

Officers approached the vehicle and were attempting to speak to the driver when he allegedly drove away.

The driver then allegedly reversed his vehicle into the police vehicle after officers had returned to their vehicle.

Both officers suffered minor injuries from the crash and were treated at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Burpengary man, was taken into custody and has since been charged with two counts of endangering a police officer when driving a motor vehicle and one count of possessing dangerous drug (methylamphetamine).

He is due to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court today.
