Police search river after dingy found

Brisbane Water Police are continuing a marine search and rescue operation today after an unattended dingy was located stuck in mud flats on the Pine River.

Water Police vessels, Rescue 500 and the police dive squad have been searching the area after the dingy was spotted at low tide.

The vessel is a three-metre aluminium open dingy painted dark blue with a white snake electric engine.

The vessel was found on the northern bank of the Pine River, halfway between the Deep Water Bend boat ramp and Pine River Bridge, over the Bruce Highway at around noon yesterday.

Appeal for help

At the time of writing police are unaware of any missing fishermen or missing persons reports in relation to the discovery.

However, they are appealing to anyone who may recognise the dingy to immediately contact police as soon as possible.
