Road upgrade - lights on

Major changes have been completed in the Strathpine-Samford Road Route Safety project, through Cashmere.

Transport and Main Roads (TMR) says traffic signals are now operating at the intersection of Eatons Crossing Rd and Lilley Rd.

Key improvements include a wide centre line treatment to increase separation between vehicles travelling in opposite directions.

Also shoulder widening giving more space for vehicles to pull over, help emergency vehicles, accommodate wide vehicles, and improve safety for bike riders.

There are also new turning lanes and a police enforcement bay will improve traffic flow and support road safety initiatives.

“The completion of these upgrades marks a significant step forward in improving safety along this busy corridor,” TMR Acting Regional Director (North Coast) Mel Dei Rossi said.

“From the signalised intersection to widened shoulders and dedicated turning lanes, each element has been carefully designed to reduce risk and improve traffic flow..

“Road users are reminded to take extra care when navigating the upgraded sections of Eatons Crossing Rd, particularly while adjusting to new traffic signals and lane configurations.”

While major construction is complete, minor finalisation works may still occur to meet safety and compliance standards.
