Roar doubling up in Redcliffe
Brisbane Roar is set to play almost half its home games at Kayo Stadium, in Redcliffe, next season.
Roar scheduled two games at Kayo Stadium for its 2025-26 A-League campaign. That became three when the visit of Perth was switched from Suncorp.
But the 2026-27 A-League season could see six of Roar’s 13 home fixtures at Kayo Stadium, with Suncorp hosting seven.
It’s an arrangement Roar says may continue “for the foreseeable future”.
Roar has told members a Venue Hire Agreement (VHA) with Suncorp Stadium for the next three seasons is “progressing well”.
However, the concert cap at Suncorp has increased to 21 for 2026 and major international tournaments are scheduled at the venue.
Roar therefore “anticipates that venue availability will present challenges across certain periods of the A-League Men’s season”.
“As a result, Brisbane Roar expects to operate a hybrid venue model for the foreseeable future, with a planned split of approximately seven home matches at Suncorp Stadium and six home matches at Kayo Stadium,” the club says.
Roar’s membership for 2026-27 season, which goes on sale next month, includes packages for A-League games at both venues - and just matches at each of the two stadiums.
Brisbane Roar played at Suncorp Stadium from 2005-2020, initially as Queensland Roar, before changing to Brisbane Roar.
In 2020-21 the club switched to Kayo Stadium, which was Moreton Daily Stadium until 2022, in Kippa-Ring.
Since 2022-23 Roar has primarily used Suncorp Stadium, with a handful of games played at Kayo Stadium.
