Santa and helpers bring Christmas cheer to sick kids
Santa has made a surprise visit to Redcliffe Hospital’s children’s ward today, delivering some early Christmas cheer.
He was joined by merry helpers from Lewis Land - owners of The Komo and The Belvedere, and Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital - an initiative of the RBWH Foundation.
Lewis Land Queensland Regional Manager Chris Allison says the company takes great joy in adding much-needed sparkle to a sick child’s hospital stay.
“Christmas would have to be the most difficult time of year for families to experience illness and injury,” Chris says.
“Distracting children from pain and discomfort, even for a few hours, and spreading the joy of Christmas in a community we’re very proud to be part of, truly is a highlight of our year.”
Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital Fundraising Manager Sharyn Tidswell says this is the sixth year Lewis Land has sponsored Santa’s visit.
“Since 2020, Lewis Land’s generosity has distributed about 2600 toys across the Paediatric Emergency Department, Children’s Ward, Maternity/Neonatal Unit, Child Protection Unit and Social Work team,” Sharyn says.
“Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital values our partnership with Lewis Land in making this possible.”
