Single dad wins $4.8 million in lotto
A single dad in Morayfield has secured his son’s future after winning a huge $4.8 million Lotto prize.
The Moreton Bay resident will be paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 over 20 years after holding the only division one winning entry in yesterday’s Set for Life draw.
When an official from The Lott called the inner this morning, he was caught completely off guard by the life-changing news.
“Oh frick! I won!” he cheered. “Wow! You’re kidding! I don’t know what to say. I’m speechless.
“I’m just at work at the moment. I was not expecting this at all. I went to bed early last night so I didn’t even check my ticket.
“What a blessing. I’m a single dad so to be honest, I’m happy to use every part of the prize for my son and to set up his life.
“I already work two jobs and it’s all for him. He’s my world. Wow. I’m so grateful. I’m a chill person but I’m pretty hyped right now.
“Thank you so much!”
His winning 25-game QuickPick entry was bought at The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 3876 on March 17 were 31, 37, 25, 15, 27, 14 and 10. The supplementary numbers were 35 and 3.
This marks the 167th Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the eighth Set for Life division one winner so far this financial year.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 301 so far this financial year, including 73 won by Golden Casket customers.
