Special brew for Clean-Up day
Bramble Bay General is offering free coffee - under one essential condition - to those taking part in Clean-Up Australia Day at Clontarf.
Participating volunteers must bring a reusable cup to the cafe, at 150 Hornibrook Esplanade, to get a free brew on Sunday (March 2).
Bramble Bay General is also providing rubbish disposal and free cold water refill stations to help those collecting litter on the beach and its surrounds.
“We’re lucky to have such a beautiful coastal location and we want to do our part in keeping it clean,” said Ruby Rule, co-owner of Bramble Bay General.
“This is a small way we can encourage the community to get involved in Clean up Australia Day, reduce waste and enjoy a fabulous coffee while they’re at it.”
Bramble Bay General's sustainable practices already include offering a 50c discount year-round to customers who bring a reusable cup.
This will be the 35th Clean-Up Australia Day, which was started by Ian Kiernan, AO, an "average Australian" who had a simple idea.
His efforts to “make a difference in his own backyard” have developed into the nation's largest community-based environmental event.
Over the years more than 22 million Australians pulled on their gloves and donating their time to improve the environment.
Registration for Clean Up Australia Day is free for communities and schools. Businesses pay a small fee.
This ensures participants are covered by public liability insurance and receive a free Clean Up kit with materials to host a safe and successful event.
