Sunrise’s Sam Mac is heading to Moreton Bay

Head on down to Redcliffe Jetty on Thursday, June 16, when Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac presents the weather from one of the Moreton Bay Region’s most scenic spots.

It’s all happening from 5.45-8.40am and is an opportunity to tell viewers Australia-wide about whale watching in Moreton Bay, the Tastes of Moreton Bay Feastival and Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival, the latest on the Dolphins NRL club, the fun visitors and locals can have on the water and to showcase local talent.

Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism CEO Shane Newcombe says the best of the region will be on show and he’d love the community to be there to join in the fun.

Brisbane Whale Watching Captain Kerry Lopez will give Sam the rundown on Moreton Bay’s Humpback Highway, how things are looking for this season and what else visitors can see out on the water,” Mr Newcombe says.

“It’s also a chance to tell the world about our Welcome to the Whales campaign, which aims to entice visitors to book a winter escape.”

Tastes of Moreton Bay Feastival ambassador Alastair McLeod will be cooking up a storm, spruiking the quality of the region’s produce and encouraging viewers to check out the event’s six-week foodie program, which starts in August.

The live crosses will also feature water trikes from Floatin’ Fun, the oldest competitor in this year’s Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run and local dancers from Jam Performing Arts who will be competing in the Comdance Qld Born to Dance Festival at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre these school holidays.

Dolphins NRL CEO Terry Reader will also appear, providing an update on the club which will make its playing debut in 2023.

“Sam Mac’s weather crosses are always lots of fun, but also a wonderful opportunity for us to promote our region and attract visitors,” Mr Newcombe says.

“Head down to Redcliffe Jetty, join in the fun and show the world how proud you are of our beautiful part of the world.”

Redcliffe Jetty is at Redcliffe Pde, Redcliffe.
