Top honour for St Benedict’s teacher

A teacher from St Benedict’s College at Mango Hill has been recognised for her dedication to education at the 2022 Brisbane Catholic Education Excellence Awards.

Kerri-Anne Nolan won the 2022 award for Excellence in Learning and Teaching in a Secondary School.

Kerri-Anne was one of several staff from St Benedict’s to have their work acknowledged at the prestigious annual awards, which attracted a record 273 nominations across 10 categories.

Culture of excellence

Each category awarded three commendations as well as the winner.

Lorraine Lowcock and Teresa Tongotongo received commendations for Excellence in a School Based Non-Teaching Role, while principal Claire McLaren received a commendation for The Archbishop’s Award for Leadership.

Mel Spies was nominated for The ACU Award for Excellence as an Early Career Teacher and Lavinia Affleck was nominated for The Archbishop’s award for Leadership.

“St Benedict’s College is proud to have such a wonderfully committed and collegial group of staff who demonstrate a culture of excellence,” a spokesperson said.
