Uni makes 1400 offers

The University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) has so far made almost 1400 offers of study for Semester 1 this year at its Moreton Bay campus in Petrie.

The mid-January round was released online today (January 14) by the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC), bringing to 1379 the number of who have received offers to study at USC Moreton Bay.

The most sought-after degrees at the campus are Nursing Science, Biomedical Science, Social Work, Primary Education, Criminology and Justice, and Psychology.

More offers

Further offers will be made in late January and throughout February ahead of Semester 1, which will start on Monday March 1.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Helen Bartlett congratulated those who have received offers and welcomed new students to join orientation activities in late February.

Professor Bartlett said the new campus was meeting an important local need for university education, with the number of enrolments last year far exceeding expectations.

Scholarships

She said the recipients of various scholarships and bursaries for USC Moreton Bay students would be announced soon.

These include eight Moreton Bay Regional Council scholarships, each valued at $8000 per year for up to five years and the Rotary Club of Pine Rivers Bursary worth $2000.

Enrolment information has been provided online to successful applicants, who are urged to respond to their offers by early next week.

Those who did not receive an offer can contact USC’s Student Central for advice about further QTAC offer rounds.
