Why Crew Legal continues to back local journalism in Moreton Bay

Local personal injury law firm Crew Legal has returned as a Moreton Daily Strategic Partner, continuing the support directors Hayley Clark and Shane Crew first began in 2025.

Based in Moreton Bay, Crew Legal specialises in personal injury law, helping people who have been injured through no fault of their own, including workplace injuries, motor vehicle accidents and public liability claims.

Director Shane Crew said supporting a strong local news platform was important for a firm that works closely with people at some of the most challenging moments in their lives.

“For us, our relationship with Moreton Daily is really important,” Shane said. “We’re a local business operating in Moreton Bay, our families live, work and play here, and we think it’s really important that local stories get told far and wide.”

He said that commitment to local storytelling was why Crew Legal had chosen to again support Moreton Daily.

A people-first legal practice

Crew Legal operates as a boutique personal injury firm, meaning clients deal directly with experienced lawyers rather than being passed between departments.

Director Hayley Clark said that approach was a deliberate choice.

“We’re a small, locally owned firm, which means clients have direct access to the people who own the business and who are handling their claim,” Hayley said.

The firm operates on a no win, no fee basis, helping reduce financial barriers for people seeking legal advice after an injury.

Shane has more than 23 years’ experience practising exclusively in personal injury law across the Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast regions, including supporting people with serious and catastrophic injuries.

Giving back to the community

Shane said giving back to the local community was central to why Crew Legal was established.

“When we started Crew Legal, it wasn’t just about opening a law firm,” he said.
“We wanted to be a positive corporate citizen and support the community we’re part of.”

The firm regularly supports local community sport and runs an annual fundraiser for Redcliffe Hospital, reflecting a long-term commitment to the region.

“Our families live here, our kids go to school here, and we’re involved in the local community. It’s important to us to support organisations that have that same commitment.”

A shared commitment to local voices

Moreton Daily Partnerships Manager Lyndsay Lawler said it was great to welcome Crew Legal back as a Strategic Partner.

“Shane and Hayley are excellent lawyers, but they’re also genuinely good people,” Lyndsay said.

“They care deeply about the community they live and work in, so supporting local journalism is a natural fit.”
