Work set to begin on new soccer clubhouse at Narangba

Construction is set to get underway on a new soccer clubhouse at Harris Avenue Sports Complex in Narangba, delivering upgraded facilities for local players, officials and spectators.

This project was first outlined in Council’s 2025–26 budget, when investments for Divisions 10, 11 and 12 were announced. See our previous coverage here.

Council has now awarded a tender for the construction of the new clubhouse for the Narangba Eagles Football Club, with the design set to meet district-level facility standards.

Mayor Peter Flannery said the project would provide long-term benefits for the club and the wider community.

“This project will provide the Narangba Eagles Football Club with a new clubhouse that meets their current and future needs,” he said.

“The new facilities will be modern, accessible and inclusive, making soccer more enjoyable for players and spectators alike.

“We are excited that construction will soon begin on this new building, which will help grow participation in local sport.”

Modern facilities for a growing club

Division 11 Councillor Ellie Smith said the new clubhouse would enhance the Harris Avenue Sports Complex and improve the game-day experience.

“The Narangba Eagles Football Club will benefit from the delivery of this new modern, accessible facility which will be built between the two existing soccer fields at the popular sporting venue,” Cr Smith said.

“The new clubhouse will deliver a quality space that enhances the game-day experience for players, officials and spectators, with great new facilities including accessible change rooms, canteen, referee rooms and amenities.”

The $6.1 million project includes a $3 million funding contribution from the Federal Government’s Investing in Our Communities (IiOC) program.

What locals need to know

According to information shared by Division 11 Councillor Ellie Smith, construction is scheduled to commence in January 2026 and is expected to take approximately 12 months, weather permitting.

Works will generally take place between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, with Council contractors aiming to minimise noise and disruption where possible.

Due to the nature of the works, traffic flow and access may be temporarily affected, including for nearby residents and the local school. Council has advised affected residents will be notified in advance of any changes, and contractors will liaise directly with residents where required.

Council has confirmed the 2026 soccer season will proceed as normal, with no impact to the operations of tennis, soccer, baseball or other users of the Harris Avenue Sports Complex, as construction will be fenced off from existing facilities.
