Auction to raise the roof at Rockin’ 4 the Homeless

A rock memorabilia auction featuring signed guitars from Pink Floyd and George Thorogood, as well as pieces from Blondie, The Offspring, Xavier Rudd, Ian Moss, The Living End, and Alice Cooper will raise the roof at this weekend’s Rockin 4 the Homeless fundraiser.

Limited edition gear, vinyl and secret band memorabilia will also ‘roll out between sets’.

The event’s proceeds will go to The Breakfast Club Redcliffe, a charity which has been feeding and supporting the homeless since 2003.

The free community-led music event will be held on Sunday, June 22 at Dolphins Leagues Club from 10am-5pm.

Aussie rock legends You Am I are headliners with Screamfeeder, Tripsitta, Square Tugs, Salt & Steel and Ky Lovell also on the bill.

There will be two live band stages, a rapper stage, DJ zone, a kids’ showcase for under-10s and under-14s, and chill out zone.

Launched in 2013, Rockin’ 4 The Homeless (R4TH) began as a humble gig at Bramble Bay Bowls Club, powered by a few local bands and an idea - use music to make a difference.

Inspired by the event and the work done by The Breakfast Club Redcliffe, a local has anonymously donated a signed and framed Pink Floyd guitar (with provenance).

“He handed it over. No name. No backstory. Just one line: ‘I believe in what you're doing. Make it count,” a Rockin 4 the Homeless spokesperson said.

The man also made a cash donation to The Breakfast Club.

The guitar will be auctioned ahead of You Am I’s performance.

There are no tickets to the free event. Supporters are urged to turn up early to avoid disappointment with capacity for 1200 people. The ‘full house’ sign will go up at this point.
