Bringing businesses together to Raise it for Redcliffe

GKS Law is hosting the launch of the Redcliffe Hospital’s Impact Partner Program this Friday, bringing the who’s who of the Moreton Bay Region’s business community together in support of the hospital’s Raise it for Redcliffe initiative.

GKS Law Managing Partner and Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital Co-Chair Jodie Anderson-Bell says the firm was proud to be a foundation matching donor last year and is now encouraging other businesses in the region to get involved.

Jodie wants them to join GKS in becoming an Impact Partner to multiply their community impact through pledging a donation, becoming a major matching donor on Giving Day (October 14), and perhaps even hosting their own fundraising initiatives.

“This is an ideal way for businesses to support the hospital that has been supporting our community for more than half a century,” Jodie says.

“With over 2000 staff working at the Redcliffe Hospital and a vast number of these living in the local area, it makes sense for local businesses to get behind this community initiative.”

Raise it for Redcliffe Hospital is a partnership between Redcliffe Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) Foundation.

“I am inspired by Impact Partners like GKS Law who support Redcliffe Hospital and the community so generously. It is a privilege to work together for greater impact – to make a great local hospital even better for everyone,” RBWH Foundation CEO Simone Garske says.

All donations are tax deductible and support life-changing research, patient care and other initiatives at Redcliffe Hospital.

Making a difference

Jodie says money raised during last year’s campaign centred on helping upgrade the hospital's rehabilitation and palliative care areas.

“All businesses involved in the program will be added to the Hospital’s Giving Wall in recognition,” she says.

The guest speaker for Friday’s lunch is Redcliffe Hospital Director Medical Services and Executive Leadership Team Member Dr Amanda Dines.

She will offer an insight into the work the hospital does while sharing the story of her medical career which spans executive leadership roles at Redcliffe and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals as well as Air Commodore in the Royal Australian Air Force as the Director General of Health Reserves and Honorary ADC to the Governor General.

The GKS Law/Redcliffe Hospital Business Leaders Lunch is at Tempest Seafood Restaurant on Friday, June 24 from noon.
