Coach sets Dolphins target

Dolphins must pick-up where they left off two weeks ago when they face the Dragons at Suncorp Stadium tonight (8pm).

‘Phins are in a “good spot” says coach Kristian Woolf, after entering the bye round with a stunning 44-8 win at NRL ladder leaders Bulldogs,

“The break has been really good,” Woolf said, “we had a number of injuries over the last block of the season, which put pressure on guys to cover.

“(We) had a lot of busted and bruised bodies so I think a bye always comes at a good time.

“We’ve got to come out of that bye and remember how we built that performance.

Max Plath will start on the bench against Dragons

“It was a really good, tough performance where we had to work hard for 65 minutes, (score was 20-8 then) Herbie dives over from dummy half.

“We worked really hard to put ourselves in that position against a team that prides itself on working hard and playing tough.

“We’re halfway through the season and have a lot of work to do and games to play if we want to get where we want to get to. So that’s our focus.”

Victory tonight will move Dolphins into the top eight for the first time this season but face a Dragons team looking for a third successive win.

Dolphins will have hooker Jeremy Marshall-King back in the starting line-up and lock Max Plath on the bench – both returning after injury.

Coach Kristian Woolf says he team is in a good spot after the bye round.

Marshall-King is “ready to go” says coach Woolf. “He’s come through all that disruption with the cuts and the infection.

“It’s been a long time, I don’t think people realise the seriousness of it and how big the cut was and the seriousness of the infection as well.

“He had a couple of stints in hospital on the IV drip, getting it flushed out, so it’s great to have him back.

“Look at the last couple of years and we haven’t won a lot of games without Jeremy. Max Plath ready to go as well. Two crucial players for us.”
