Construction complete on Caboolture social housing

Seniors, people with a disability and young people will be among the tenants of 10 new social housing units at Caboolture.

Construction of the four one-bedroom and six two-bedroom homes was recently completed and tenants are expected to move in soon.

Housing minister Meaghan Scanlon says two units are designed to Platinum accessibility levels and two have been built to Gold standard, with wider hallways and doors, making them suitable for older tenants and people with a disability.

“We know that having access to safe and secure housing and the stability of a place to call home makes a big difference in many aspects of people’s lives,” she says.

More homes to come

Police minister and Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan says the units are a welcome addition to the region’s 5500 social housing homes.

“I’m pleased to see more social housing delivered by our government here in Caboolture,” he says.

“We know that there is a need for more social housing, and we are delivering these homes for those that need them the most.

“We have 100 homes currently under construction in the region and an additional 141 homes under contract to be delivered in the near future.”
