D'Aguilar Highway upgrade a step closer

Design work is now complete for $7 million in surface improvements for a 3.3km section of the D’Aguilar Highway between the Bruce Highway and Old Gympie Rd, Caboolture.

State Member for Pumicestone Ali King says the upgrade will improve safety.

“More than 12,950 people use this stretch of road a day and these works will go a long way in helping each of those drivers have a quicker, safer drive,” Ms King says.

“As part of this project, we will resurface the on and off-ramps from the Bruce Hwy, Pumicestone Rd and Old Gympie Rd, as well as the Bruce Hwy overpass bridge.

“This is good news for my community, and I look forward to seeing work get underway.”

The construction contract is expected to be awarded by the end of this year.

Ms King says the project is one of many being delivered by the State Government.

“Road resurfacing projects are a key part in keeping Queensland roads in good condition, as part of our rolling maintenance program,” she says.

“Pavement investigations will take place on the D’Aguilar Highway this month to inform the works, which will be undertaken at night to minimise the impact to drivers.

“A combination of temporary detours and single-lane closures will be implemented, with traffic control in place to manage the flow of cars.

“I appreciate the patience of locals as we deliver this important work.”

The pavement investigations will be completed at night, Sunday to Thursday between 7pm and 6am.

Ms King says more information will be provided before construction starts.
