Disbelief at Instant Scratch-Its win

A Burpengary man was left in a state of disbelief after scratching a top prize of $1000 a week for five years on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The Moreton Bay resident bought his winning $5 Live the Life Japan Instant Scratch-Its ticket at TSG Burpengary News, in Burpengary Plaza just before Christmas.

The Queenslander, who recently celebrated his birthday, admitted it was the best birthday surprise he’s ever received.

“I didn’t believe it at first,” he exclaimed. “I’m still waiting for the winning news to sink in.

“I scratched it around the time of my birthday. It’s definitely unforgettable! It’s the most I’ve ever won, so I don’t know how to comprehend it.

“I can’t believe I’ll be receiving $1,000 a week for the next five years. How cool.”

With the annuity prize about to start boosting his bank account, the man said it would help his mortgage.

“I’m going to put it towards house repayments and pay off some bills,” he said.

“I’m still deciding whether I would like to celebrate – I’ll probably keep it on the downlow!”

The TSG Burpengary News team couldn’t believe they had sold a top prize Instant Scratch-Its ticket and wished their winner all the best.
