Don’t miss RSPCA’s Cupcake Day

There will be plenty of sweet treats, fun, fundraising and wagging tails at the RSCPA’s Dakabin Animal Care Centre this Saturday for the charity’s annual Cupcake Day.

The event will be held on September 27 at 6 Goodwin Rd, Dakabin.

Every dollar raised helps the RSPCA provide vital care, shelter and medical treatment to animals in need across Queensland.

This year, RSPCA Queensland is hoping to raise $123,000 for animals in their care as part of the annual community fundraiser.

In addition to the Dakabin event, more than 350 people across Queensland have signed up to host their own Cupcake Day event.

“It's heartwarming to see so many passionate animal lovers baking and fundraising to help hundreds of animals in our care today,” says RSPCA Queensland spokeswoman Emma Lagoon.

Emma says more than 2500 animals turn to RSPCA Queensland for help every month with 94 per cent of the charity’s funding coming from community support.

“Every dollar raised matters,” she says.

“Whether it’s $36 raised to provide comfy bedding for young animals, $57 to provide bottle feeding for a litter of abandoned kittens, or over $100 raised to help cover veterinary costs for injured and sick animals.”
