Dozens charged in Moreton Bay police drug busts

More than 40 people have been charged with almost 500 drug-related offences after an operation run by Redcliffe detectives.

Among those arrested as part of Operation Uniform Gobi were three women, who have been charged with trafficking dangerous drugs, including methamphetamine, between October 2022 and March.

A 27-year-old Redcliffe woman was charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug and 132 offences of supplying a dangerous drug, possession of dangerous drug exceeding schedule 3, unlawful possession of a category R weapon, possession of a drug utensil and other drug offences.

The charges came after police executed a search warrant at an address in Longland St, Redcliffe on November 2 last year.

The woman is scheduled to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on March 29.

A 33-year-old Kippa-Ring woman has been charged with trafficking a dangerous drug, 152 offences of supplying a dangerous drug, supplying a medicine or hazardous poison, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of drug utensils, possession of property suspected to be the proceeds of a crime, possession of tainted property and possession of explosives.

Her charges followed police executing a search warrant in George St, Kippa-Ring on January 10 and she is scheduled to appear at Redcliffe Magistrates Court on May 10.

Hundreds of charges

A 38-year-old Kallangur woman was arrested for trafficking a dangerous drug and faces 71 charges of supplying a dangerous drug, entering a premises to commit an indictable offence, possession of a drug utensil, possession of explosives, possession of counterfeit money and possession of items used in commission of a crime.

Police executed a search warrant in Orchard Court, Kallangur on March 2 before charging the woman, who is due in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on May 8.

As a result of the investigation, a further 38 people in the Moreton District were arrested for drug and property related offences, with a total of 493 charges laid.
