Drug operation ends, 23 people facing charges

Twenty-three people have been charged with more than 100 offences after a six-month investigation into dangerous drug trafficking in the Moreton Police District.

Redcliffe detectives laid 111 charges as a result of Operation Uniform Hedgehog, including trafficking, supplying and possession of dangerous drugs and possession of weapons, with police alleging they found more than $15,000 in cash, two firearms, more than 12g of methylamphetamine, more than 600g of cannabis and vials of steroids.

From March, police executed a series of search warrants across the district.

The first, on March 16 at a King St, Clontarf address, resulted in a 40-year-old Clontarf woman being charged with two charges of trafficking, 11 offences of supplying a dangerous drug and two for possession of a dangerous drug.

She will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on September 27.

Deception Bay man charged

On June 14 police executed a search warrant at an Evesham Rd, Deception Bay property, resulted in police alleging they found steroids, a shortened .22calibre firearm, cash, gamma hydroxybutyric (GHB), cannabis, an electric conductive device, and two scooters that were believed to have been stolen.

A 39-year-old Deception Bay man was charged with three charges of possessing a dangerous drug, possession of drug utensils, three weapons-related offences and possession of property believed to be from the proceeds of a drug offences.

The man will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates court on December 1.

North Lakes woman charged

A 53-year-old North Lakes woman was charged with 12 counts of supplying a dangerous drug, five of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug utensils and possession of tainted property after police executed a search warrant at a residence in The Corso at North Lakes on July 12.

The woman will appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates court on October 5.
